Meet Kimberly Hawthorne
Hi there! I’m Kimberly Hawthorne, the artist and graphic designer behind Life Escapes. With 38 years of experience in art and graphic design, I’m a die-hard art aficionado. Six years ago, I found my true passion—designing adult coloring books and grayscale coloring.
How It All Started
My career began in the world of website design. When I was looking for a creative way to spend my downtime, I stumbled upon coloring books for adults. It was fun but felt like something was missing. That’s when I discovered the mesmerizing world of grayscale coloring books.
I fell so much in love with grayscale coloring that I couldn’t resist the temptation to create my own. That led to the birth of Life Escapes, and as they say, the rest is history.
Skills and Expertise
I’ve harnessed my college background in graphic design and further honed my skills through a slew of online Photoshop courses. Today, I also integrate Artificial Intelligence to create the most exceptional grayscale coloring books possible.

Milestones
We opened our online store in October 2017 and have proudly released hundreds of adult coloring books in grayscale as well as line art styles like mandalas and zentangle.
